Working my way upwind just to blast back downwind, again, and again……

Traveling the week before Xmas!

On my way to the East Coast to coordinate the work planned on the race boat. We are having a few modifications done to make the boat more competitive with the current crop of 40-45 ft IRC race boats. More details in the next few posts…..
This is the same boat that we raced to Bermuda in 2010. We are planning on doing the Newport Bermuda race again this year, so work must start now in order for the boat to be ready by May. We will do the “Round Block Island Race” scheduled for Memorial Day weekend as a training / warm-up / shake down race. I always insist on doing a full on race after we do any major work to the boat, especially when we pull the rig out. It is so simple for a silly mistake to ruin a complete outing, so best to have a complete run through before hand leaving enough time for any minor fix pre N2B (Newport – Bermuda).
I will post pictures once on site at New England Boatworks in Rhode Island. This will give you a good view of the underbody (bottom) of the boat. It will also be the first time I get to see the new race prop we got last June before Block Island Race Week.
